Magna MedTech Group has acquired the majority stake in RSR Group, one of Bulgaria's leading importers and distributors of medical equipment. The transaction closed on 23 September 2026.
Assoc. Prof. Racho Ribarov MD, PhD, founded RSR in Sofia in 1994. Over three decades, RSR has grown into a market leader in Bulgaria. Today it is the partner of choice for more than 50 international manufacturers, including many of the world's leading medical technology companies. In Bulgaria, RSR operates through five specialized divisions: Surgery, Diabetes Care, Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology, Laboratory, and Ophthalmology. It covers the whole country through eight offices cooperating with all key hospitals and pharmacies. Outside Bulgaria, RSR has subsidiaries in Romania, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Croatia, and a new office in Albania. The group employs around 160 people. Dr. Ribarov retains a minority stake and will continue to lead the company. This reflects Magna MedTech's operating model: local execution by the founders who built the business, combined with the Group's scale and expertise.
RSR is Magna MedTech's fourth acquisition in Southeast Europe. It follows Magna Pharmacia (Serbia, 2024), Diamedix Group (Romania, 2025) and Urion (Montenegro, 2025).
